Guided tour through Physics Labs of Prof. Wrachtrup

On July 12th, Dr.Amit Finkler from the 3rd Institute of Physics of the University of Stuttgart guided a lab tour for the members of the research training group. After an introduction into the topic of Nitrogen-Vacancy Centers (NVCs) in diamonds and their applications in different branches of experimental physics, members of the institute showed several experimental setups using NVCs in the field of quantum information processing and as sensors for magnetic fields and spins. The students also got to see how diamonds get prepared with such defects.
