On iterated Induction-restriction for rook
monoids and partition algebras.
Abstract:
It is well-known that partition algebras are in Schur-Weyl duality
with the symmetric group both acting on a tensor space. Rook monoids form
an important class of monoids and closely tied with symmetric groups. In
this talk, we discuss a connection between the centralizer algebras of
iterated induction-restriction of the trivial representation of a rook
monoid and partition algebras. This is based on a joint work with Volodymyr
Mazorchuk.
