Bea Schumann (Köln), Nakajima quiver varieties and combinatorics of Auslander-Reiten quivers

Abstract:
We give a gentle introduction to Nakajima quiver varieties, certain projective varieties attached to quivers, motivated by questions in Lie theory. We then explain how combinatorics of Auslander-Reiten quivers of Dynkin quivers may be used to understand their irreducible components and the associated crystal structures in the finite type case. This talk is based on joint work with Deniz Kus.
