Sibylle Schroll (Leicester), On algebras and varieties-
Abstract:
In this talk, on joint work with
Ed Green and Lutz Hille, we will
introduce new affine algebraic
varieties whose points correspond
to algebras given by quiver and
relations. Each variety has a
distinguished point corresponding
to a monomial algebra. We will
show how properties of this
monomial algebra control
properties of all the algebras in
a variety. We will end with an
application to quasihereditary
algebras and give a criterion for
a monomial algebra to be
quasihereditary.
