Lucia Morotti (Hannover), Irreducible restrictions of representations of symmetric groups

Abstract:
Irreducible restrictions of representations of symmetric groups to arbitrary subgroups have been classified by Saxl in characteristic 0 and by Brundan and Kleshchev in characteristic at least 5. In characteristic 2 and 3 however only partial results were known. In this talk I will show how a classification can be obtained in characteristic 2 or 3. This is joint work with Alexander Kleshchev and Pham Huu Tiep.
