Remarks on the global dimension of dg algebras.
Abstract:
We explore the global dimension of a triangulated category
relative to a compact silting object. We explain how the finiteness of this
dimension is independent of the choice of the silting object and intrinsic
to the triangulated category. Applying this framework, the above reveals
that the finiteness of the global dimension of a connective dg algebra is a
property intrinsic to its derived category. We conclude by analyzing the
behaviour of global dimension along certain dg algebra homomorphisms.
