Abstract: We will show how a theory of translation functors can be defined for towers of recollement, and apply this to the Brauer and walled Brauer algebras. Using this we will develop an alcove geometry in each case that controls the representation theory.

Abstract:
We will show how decomposition numbers for the Brauer and walled Brauer algebra, together with projective resolutions of standard modules, can be described in terms of parabolic Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomials. We also show how these can be computed from a graphical realisation.
